About Pottery Classes

I am a practicing ceramic artist with a Bachelor of Fine Art in Ceramics and an experienced, passionate teacher. My classes welcome complete beginners through to experienced makers, with a focus on wheel throwing, handbuilding, or a combination of both.

I offer a fully equipped professional studio including seven wheels, a slab roller, drape moulds, two kilns, and a wide range of glazes and decorative techniques.

My studio is set within a peaceful 40-acre forest surrounded by wildlife and animals, offering a calm and inspiring environment.

Pottery is taught as a three-stage process—working in the mud stage (soft clay), refining at the leather-hard stage, and finishing with glazing. You’ll be supported through each stage with guidance tailored to your individual skills and creative direction.

Learning Pottery like any new skill improves with regular practise, I recommend you take your classes

weekly but do offer flexible bookings at any session and the packs allow for fortnightly visits. Work-in-progress can be kept between sessions for up to 2 weeks.

“I’d been thinking about trying pottery for a couple of years and just a month ago I came across Felicity’s page. I’ve had 2 lessons so far and LOVE it. I love the whole process of creating. Getting out of my head and into my body. It’s so exciting as the pieces come together! Sitting at the pottery wheel, looking out to nature, has been a blessing for my busy mind. Such a soothing experience"

"Felicity is a wonderful teacher with loads of experience. The location is lovely and peaceful, would recommend to anyone wanting to have a go at pottery."

Caroline, Bendigo Vic

"I am loving learning pottery with Felicity and would highly recommend her classes. Her studio is very welcoming, peaceful and lovely place to be. As a complete beginner, I have appreciated her gentle instruction and encouragement. The magic of turning a lump of clay into a ’thing’ is a fantastic and highly enjoyable process!"

Hillview Guest Pottery Experience

It was the the highlight of our entire stay! We both made handmade mugs with the guidance of the talented Felicity. It was such an awesome wat to end our stay. We got to make some pots on the pedal powered wheel which was a workout in itself!
The best part we get to have our creations posted home once they are glazed and fired by Felicity.
The pottery experience is an additional fee on top of our stay but we would both highly recommend it, especially for couples!!
